B.Lynn Pascoe: The whole world expecting success of democratic transition in Tunisia

July 19, 2011 - TAP - Interim Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi received here Tuesday UN Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs B.Lynn Pascoe.
The latter said, at the end of the meeting, that the whole world is watching the progress carried out in Tunisia on the way of democratic transition and expecting the success of this process so that the January, 14, Revolution might remain the model in the region.
He also said he had discussed with the Prime Minister the latest developments in Tunisia and Libya and conveyed to him consideration for the efforts made by the Caretaker Government to ensure the success of this transition up to the elections next October of the Constituent Assembly".
On this occasion, I expressed the readiness of the United Nations to provide technical and logistic support in matters of electoral process in so far as our experts have co-operated last year with more than 50 countries in this field " B.Lynn Pascoe declared, reiterating as well the consideration of the international community for the hospitality the Tunisian people offered Libyan refugees.
