Full UN membership bid at centre of Essebsi-Abbas talk

November 11, 2011 12:32 TAP - The efforts made to boost current negotiations on the bid to win full UN membership for the state of Palestine were the focus of talks held on Friday morning by Interim Prime Minister Béji Caid Essebsi with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
In a statement to national and foreign media, Abbas said the talks had turned on Palestinian reconciliation, regarded as part of the priorities that will be discussed in coming days with Hamas leader Khaled Mechaal.
He went on saying that the meeting had also allowed to review Tunisian-Palestinian relations and confirm both sides' care to further strengthen them.
The Palestinian President, on an official visit in Tunisia, is leading a delegation including particularly Saeb Erekat, Chief Negotiator of the Palestinian Authority, Bassam Salhi, member of the PLO Executive Committee and Majdi Khaladi, Diplomatic Adviser to President Abbas.
