Foued Mebazaa praises lawyers' role innew free and democratic Tunisia

November 19, 2011  -TAP - Caretaker President Foued Mebazaa hosted, on Saturday in Carthage, a luncheon in honour of guests of the official inaugural session of the National Bar's training conferences, in the presence of Interim Prime Minister Beji Caid Essebsi and several government members.
Mr. Mebazaa highlighted the "important position" of lawyers in Tunisian society and "their noble mission in the new, free and democratic Tunisia, defending the citizens' rights, as well as the homeland's interests and gains."
Chairman of the Bar Abderrazak Kilani extended thanks to the Caretaker President for his encouragements to the Bar and granting it the position it deserves after the Revolution.
He hailed the efforts of the Interim President who has accepted to lead the country in this delicate period the country is living through after the Revolution of Dignity and Freedom.
During the ceremony, the chairman of the Bar presented Mr. Foued Mebazaa with the Medal of the National Merit of Lawyers, "in consideration for his positive role" in the transition period that followed the January 14 Revolution.
