April 25, 2012 - TAP - Brazil is willing to increase trade exchanges with Tunisia and boost investment and co-operation in the different fields, particularly agriculture and social policies, said Brazilian Minister of External Relations Antonio de Aguiar Patriota.
Following his meeting, Wednesday in Tunis, with Interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, Mr. Patriota saluted "a nation that treads its own path towards democracy and social progress" and where "conditions are met for the establishment of closer ties between our two Governments and societies," he said.
He also stressed the importance of stepping up political dialogue between the two countries "to better understand what is happening in this region where there are many changes and where we consider Tunisia a model of political development in peace and stability," he underlined.
Mr. Patriota, who wrapped up a two-day working visit to Tunisia, reiterated Brazil's willingness to bring support to Tunisia "in a spirit of fraternal co-operation with the people and Government of Tunisia".
