Regular Cabinet meeting

May 15, 2012 - TAP - The Cabinet's regular meeting, held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, reviewed progress of the different ministries' and Government institutions' activities.
A report was presented on the National Constituent Assembly's debates on the 2012 Government program and the Complementary Finance Act adopted last week-end, a Prime Ministry's communiqué reads.
The meeting also looked at action undertaken to keep prices under control, oversee the distribution circuits and put a halt to smuggling.
It stressed the importance to carry on the ministries' and the concerned structures' efforts so that basic products be affordable to the citizens, calling to intensify media and awareness campaign to this end.
Besides, it stressed the imperative need to combat the phenomenon of smuggling and the illegal supply and distribution circuits.
The meeting also reviewed progress of the collective bargaining. "A negotiation meeting is to be held on Tuesday evening," specifies the communiqué.
In another connection, the Prime Ministry underlines that "the Cabinet meeting discussed the Tunisian-Libyan fraternity relations and prospects for their development, pending the visit in Tunisia of Libya's Premier Abderrahmane el-Kib, on May 17."
