A Ministerial Council Devoted to the Progress of Works of Drafting the New Investment Code

12th of November 2012 - The chief of government Mr. Hamadi Jebali headed today morning at the Government Palace in El Kasbah a working session devoted to view the process of drafting the New Investment Code in the presence of the executive team in charge of its preparation. The team consists of representatives of the concerned ministries as well as representatives of the private sector, National Bar Association, and the international financial institutions.
The minister of investment and international cooperation Mr.Riadh Bettaieb declared that the session was an occasion to talk about the outlines of the New Investment Code that will be a constitution for business and investment environment in Tunisia. The minister emphasized on the fact that the New Investment Code will take into consideration the national priorities summed up by Mr. Bettaieb in four major themes as follows; strengthening the basis of regional development, the development of the human capital, giving a boost to employment, focusing on high value added tax (VAT), highlighting the importance of export and paying attention to the Tunisian institutions active in the investment sector abroad.
