A Consultative Meeting between the Government and the UGTT

18th of April 2013 - A first consultation meeting between the government and Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) was held on Thursday at the Government Presidency in El Kasbah.
The meeting emphasized on the fact that the country’s interest requires permanent dialogue and consultations between the government and Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) to deal with the issues and files of common interest.
The two involved parties agreed to hold monthly meetings. The next meeting will be devoted to discuss a set of issues related to economic and social rights, the right to strike, the issue of sub-contracting and agreements signed in some sectors of the public service and the social situation in a number of institutions and sectors due to the spread of legal and illegal strikes.
At this meeting, the government was represented by the Minister to the Chief of Government Mr. Noureddine B'hiri, the Minister to the Chief of Government in charge of Economic Affairs Mr. Ridha Saidi, the Minister of Social Affairs Mr. Khalil Zaouia, the Minister of Public Property and Land Affairs Mr. Slim Ben H’midane, the Secretary-General of the Government Ridha Abdelhafidh and the Adviser to the Prime Minister Habib Kchaou.
The UGTT delegation was represented by Noureddine Tabboubi, Belgacem Ayari, Samir Cheffi, Mohamed Mesalmi and Sami Tahri.
