Tunisia and Iraq affirm willingness to hold 16th high joint commission as soon as possible

16 February 2016 – TAP - Tunisia and Iraq affirmed, Tuesday, willingness to hold the 16 th session of the Tunisian-Iraqi high joint commission “as soon as possible,” in order to boostco-operation between the two countries in various fields, the Prime Ministry announced.

At the end of a meeting with Prime Minister Habib Essid, Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari said that the two sides had pointed out the need to stimulate tourist activity between Tunisia and Iraq.

Al-Jaafari underlined that he had informed Essid “the last security developments in the Arab region in general and in Iraq in particular” .

He also informed him that his government is endeavouring “to relieve the burden of crises the region is going through, by supporting peaceful and consensual solutions between the various Arab countries».
