18 February 2016 -TAP - Prime Minister Habib Essid chaired, on Thursday in Dar Dhiafa, Carthage, an inner Cabinet meeting on preparations in anticipation for the national dialogue on employment.

In this context, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to best prepare this event by thoroughly defining roles, while ensuring a broader participation of political parties, national organizations and civil society.

The meeting stressed that the national dialogue on employment represents a major national event, in so far as it will pave the way for a joint vision on issues related to the labour market.

It will also be an opportunity allowing, as part of a participatory and inclusive approach, to identify urgent measures likely to reduce the unemployment rate.

The meeting also officially launched the process of drafting the national employment strategy, calling, in this regard, for international mobilization to encourage investment in Tunisia.

The meeting also focused on the outcome of the survey on the potential of jobs in different economic sectors and economic fields.

The Prime Minister had announced, last January 28, a series of measures to boost employment, at a parliamentary plenary session dedicated to the presentation of outlines of the guidance document of the development plan.
