Portugal committed to support Tunisia’s efforts to conclude large agreement with EU

25 February 2016 - TAP - Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva reaffirmed, Thursday, his country’s commitment to support Tunisia’s efforts to conclude a broad agreement with the European Union (EU).

Portugal is committed to supporting Tunisia’s efforts to conclude a large agreement with the European Union to boost its economic transition and development process,” he said at the end of his talk with Prime Minister Habib Essid.

The meeting was an opportunity to affirm joint will to foster bilateral  relations in the political, diplomatic, economic, cultural and educational fields and multilateral relations, particularly as part of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the 5+5 Group and the EU, he pointed out.

According to a Prime Ministry press release, Essid and Santos Silva also discussed the latest regional developments their possible fall-out on the security of Tunisia and Portugal.
