National Security Council looks at ways to back Libya’s national consensus government

25 February 2016 - TAP - President of the Republic Béji Caid Essebsi Thursday chaired a meeting of the National Security Council.

The state of affairs in the region and means to back the government of national consensus in Libya took centre stage, said a Presidency press release.

Libya’s recognized parliament failed so far to hold a vote of confidence in Fayez Sarraj’s cabinet.

The deterioration of the security situation in Libya fed fears of a military action.

A US air raid hit Friday at dawn two houses in Libya’s Sabratha, killing 50 most of them Tunisians.
