Cabinet meeting : University graduates’ unemployment rate slightly decreases

24 February 2016 - TAP - The unemployment rate of university graduates in the third quarter 2015 dropped by less than one point, i.e. from 32% in the 3°rd quarter 2015 to 31.2% in the fourth quarter the same year, government spokesman Khaled Chaouket said on Wednesday.

Speaking after a Cabinet meeting held at Dhiafa Palace, Carthage under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Habib Essid, he added that 84,670 people have applied for the programme “Forsati” (My Opportunity), particularly in the regions of Gafsa, Kasserine, Kairouan and Sidi Bouzid.

He also said that the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (French: BTS) has granted, as part of funding facilities, nearly 1,329 loans with a total value estimated at 18 million dinars.

The Cabinet meeting reviewed the situation in Libya and announced the holding of National Security Council meeting on Thursday, February 25, 2016 to announce the official position of the Tunisian government about the possible scenarios in Libya, Chaouket further said.
