PM meets former French PM Alain Juppé

29 February 2016 - TAP - Former French Prime Minister and Mayor of Bordeaux, Alain Juppé said, on Monday in Tunis, that democratic transition in Tunisia marked by a new Constitution and pluralist and transparent elections is a unique model despite the challenges of terrorism and economic difficulties.

At his meeting Monday in Dar Dhiafa, Carthage, with Prime Minister Habib Essid, Mr. Juppé affirmed France’s support to Tunisia, adding that his country’s interest and the historical friendship relations binding the two countries plead for Tunisia’s stability and the success of its transition process.

Quoted in a Prime Ministry statement, Mr. Juppé  reaffirmed France’s support to the reforms initiated by Tunisia at the political, economic and development levels

Alain Juppé, candidate for “Les Républicains” party's nomination for the French presidential elections in 2017 began a two-day visit to Tunisia had started, on Sunday.
