Review of preparations for Conference of Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network in Tunis

08 March 2016 - TAP - Minister of Public Service, Governance and Anti-Corruption Kamel Ayadi received, on Tuesday in Tunis, representatives of Tunisian structures, members of the Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network (ACINET) and the regional support mechanism, led by regional co-ordinator of the United Nations Development Programmer (UNDP) Arkan El Seblani.

The meeting focused on preparations for the conference of ACINET to be held in Tunis.

It also discussed the major axes of the Network’s action plan for the coming period.

According to a statement released Tuesday, the meeting is part of preparations for the transfer of the presidency of ACINET from Lebanon to Tunisia.

Established in 2008 and currently chaired by the Lebanese Minister of Justice, the Arab Anti-Corruption and Integrity Network includes 47 ministries and official agencies from 17 Arab countries, two observer members and the Non-Governmental Group, which consists of 23 independent organizations from civil society, the private sector and academia.

“This is the first Arab regional mechanism that brings together government and non-governmental synergies to ultimately fight corruption”, reads the statement.
