Ways to strengthen Tunisia-Algerian co-operation in ICT discussed

14 March 2016 - TAP -  Prime Minister Habib Essid met, on Monday in Kasbah, with Algerian Minister of Post and Information and Communication Technology Houda Imane Faraoun.

Speaking after the meeting, the Algerian Minister said it was an opportunity to review the two countries’ political commitment to expand co-operation in the sector of post and information and communication technology, said a Prime Ministry statement.

These include strengthening technological infrastructure and increasing trans-continental communication capacity while ensuring broadband and enhancing presence on the Internet.

The Algerian minister also said she had reviewed with the PM the issue of increasing youth initiatives and creativity in this area, stressing the importance of further boosting bilateral co-operation relations, particularly between Tunisian and Algerian small and medium enterprises.

Mrs. Houda Imane Faraoun expressed the Algerian people’s solidarity with the Tunisian people after the terrorist attack in Ben Guerdane.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Information and Communication Technology and Digital Economy Noomen Fehri and Algeria’s Ambassador in Tunis Abdelkader Hajjar.
