16 March 2016 - TAP - Speaker of the House of People’s Assembly (HPR) Mohamed Ennaceur and Prime Minister Habib Essid discussed, Wednesday, the legislative timetable of the coming months.

They agreed to boost the mechanisms of co-ordination between the parliament and the government.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mohamed Ennaceur said it focused on draft laws to be voted before July 25, according to a timetable set by the HPR.

The meeting is called to become periodic, he announced.

The two sides placed emphasis on increasing co-ordination to complete the preparation of draft laws as soon as possible, particularly those related to constitutional authorities, added the parliament speaker.

For his part, Prime Minister Habib Essid said the meeting aims to speed up the rate of adoption of bills.

“Harmony and agreement between the executive and legislative powers facilitates government’s action,” he affirmed.

The government delegation included, in particular, Minister responsible for Relations with HPR, Khaled Chawket, Minister responsible for Relations with Constitutional Authorities, Civil Society and Human Rights Kamel Jendoubi and Secretary-General of the Government Ahmed Zarrouk.
