21 April 2016 - TAP - Prime Minister Habib Essid paid, on Thursday, a visit to several judicial institutions. He went to the judicial and financial pole, the judicial counter-terrorism pole and the Court of Appeal, where he enquired about working conditions.

These inspection visits pave the way for a series of measures the government plans to take soon to strengthen the judiciary and help it rule on corruption and terrorism cases as soon as possible,” the Prime Minister said.

Habib Essid recognized “the difficult” working conditions of the judges, in the absence of a law organizing the action of the pole.

The government will provide the pole with the appropriate legal framework within a short period of time, he promised.

In the judicial counter-terrorism pole, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to decide additional measures to help this jurisdiction discharge its role with further speed and efficiency.

In the court of Cassation, Habib Essid pointed to the smallness of offices and the lack of equipment and resources, announcing that studies on the development of the new premises of this institution will start soon.

Habib Essid was accompanied by Minister of Justice Amor Mansour.
