PM pays tribute to victims of March terrorist attack in Ivory Coast

26 April 2016 - TAP - Prime Minister Habib Essid Monday paid tribute in the seaside resort of Grand-Bassam, about 40 km from Abidjan, to the victims of last March hotel shooting.

The Premier laid a wreath in the memory of victims and told Ivorian Interior Minister Hamed Bakayoko he is deeply saddened by this terrorist attack. He also laid emphasis on the impact of such assaults on the tourism industry in both Tunisia and Ivory Coast.

Essid renewed in this vein the call for increased coordination, particularly in intelligence, to stand up to terrorism.

Habib Essid also visited the free-trade zone for biotechnology and information and communication technologies in Grand-Bassam where he toured, along with Digital Economy Minister Bruno Nabagné Koné, the first units set up as part of this technopole.

The two officials underlined the need to strengthen partnership between the two technopoles in Grand-Bassam and El Ghazela, Tunisia.

A hall was fitted out for Tunisians in the technopole like the one dedicated to Ivorians in El Ghazela.

Besides, Premier Essid met at the first day of his official visit to Ivory Coast with parliament Speaker Guillaume Soro who attended in January 2014 the ceremony marking the adoption of Tunisia’s Constitution. The talk turned on means to boost parliamentary co-operation.
