June 2, 2016 – TAP - Prime Minister Habib Essid, on Thursday, stressed Tunisia’s willingness to receive greater support from its partners and especially major industrial countries.

At a meeting with ambassadors of the G7 and the European Union in Dar Dhiafa, Carthage, Essid has called on these countries to massively participate in the international conference on investment scheduled from November 29 to 30, 2016 in Tunis.

The ambassadors present at the meeting stressed the commitment of their countries to contribute to the success of the economic reform process in Tunisia, through the expansion of bilateral cooperation and the promotion and diversification of investments.

In this regard, they recalled the recommendation of the recent G7 Summit in Japan that provides for supporting the experiences and economic development in many countries, including Tunisia.

According to a statement from the Prime Ministry, the meeting gave way to an agreement on the creation of a mechanism for coordination and monitoring of economic and financial cooperation which includes G7 ambassadors and representatives of international financial institutions.

"This mechanism is a means to support and assist in the preparation of the Tunis international conference on investment," reads the statement.
