Essid makes unannounced visit to governorate of Beja

June 9, 2019 - TAP – Prime Minister Habib Essid, on Thursday afternoon, made a surprise visit to the governorate of Beja, during which he inspected the progress of work of the Oued Zarga / Bousalem motorway extending over 54 km, including 15 km of ramps in cities’ entrances, said a statement from the Prime Ministry.

The motorway, which will come into operation by the end of summer 2016, is a section of the project of the Maghreb motorway linking the Tunisian and Algerian borders via the city of Bousalem, added the same source.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Spatial Planning Mohamed Salah Arfaoui, stressed the need to complete works in the shortest possible time, given the importance of this project in boosting economic activity in the governorate and in the northwestern region.

In addition, Essid went to the police station and the local National Guard District in Medjez el-Bab, where he inquired about the working conditions of security units.

In Medjez-el-Bab, the Prime Minister also visited the fruit and vegetable market where he inspected the prices of various products and learnt about market supply operations in fruit and vegetables on the occasion of Ramadan. He also talked with several people and listened to their concerns.
