June 6, 2019 – TAP - The Security Coordination and Monitoring Unit Saturday focused on the situation in the country and means to guarantee the operational readiness of the military and police.

Emphasis was also laid on the need to step up vigilance in the face of terrorist threats.

The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Premier Habib Essid with attendance of the Ministers of National Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs, offered the opportunity to discuss the strategy devised to help guard against terrorism and bolster police efforts during Ramadan and the summer season.

There is need to take necessary precautions to ward off threats and secure institutions, reads the prime ministry’s press release.

The Security Coordination and Monitoring Unit said “the difficult situation and the terrorist threats require official institutions, social partners and all Tunisians to join efforts” so as to avert terrorist threats and help the military and police deliver on their mission in a context that calls for standing alertness and full operational readiness.
