Inner Cabinet meeting looks at bill on exposure of corruption and whistleblower protection

June 14, 2019 – TAP – An inner Cabinet meeting, chaired Tuesday by Prime Minister Habib Essid, has focused on a draft law on the exposure of corruption and protection of whistleblowers.

Consisting of 47 articles divided into five chapters, the bill aims to fight corruption, strengthen citizens' confidence in the government and private companies and encourage their participation in the development, implementation and assessment of policies against corruption.

According to a statement from the Prime Ministry, Habib Essid emphasized the importance of this project, saying it sets mechanisms for the exposure of corruption and whistleblower protection and establishes the principles of transparency, integrity and accountability in the public and private sectors.
