Immediate measures for areas that suffered damage due to flooding

October 2, 2016 - TAP - Prime Minister Youssef Chahed has decided the creation of a committee that will be tasked with assessing the damage suffered by houses after the recent floods and rains, on the sidelines of his visit, Sunday, to some delegations of the governorate of Monastir, a statement of the Prime Ministry said Sunday.

Chahed decided to maintain the meeting of the National Committee of Natural Disasters to assess damage in the Sahel and in other regions.

Immediate action to renovate tracks and roads in damaged regions will also be undertaken, in addition to clearing of wadis and immediate intervention of the Tunisian Social Solidarity Union (UTSS) to provide mattresses and blankets to affected families.

The State will fulfil its duty towards poor families who have suffered damage because of the recent floods, the Prime Minister said on the sidelines of his visit to the delegations Jammel, Beni Hassen and Menzel Harb, along with Minister of Public Works, Housing and Spatial Development Mohamed Salah Arfaoui.
